Agenda for the measurement workshop
1. presentation of Eurotom's full range of products for manufacturers and users of paints and varnishes.
2. preparation of paint material and tests of its quality
3. measurement of visual parameters of coatings:
- gloss measurement theory
- colour measurement theory
- orange peel and surface profile measurement theory
4. Colour measuring instruments and their practical use:
- spectro2guide single-angle spectrophotometers for the measurement of homogeneous colours,
- BYK mac and multi-angle spectrophotometers for the measurement of metallic and special effect colours,
- spectro2profiler spectrophotometers for the simultaneous assessment of colour, gloss and 3D surface topography
5. Practical measurement exercises:
- workshop on dispersing paint material using the CVevo disperser from VMA Getzmann,
- workshop on measuring the gloss of samples with different gloss levels and different shapes using the micro-gloss meters of the micro-gloss family, manufactured by BYK Gardner
- workshop on measuring colour and fluorescence using digital standards,
- workshop on measuring colour with metallic effect with the BYK mac spectrophotometer and orange peel with the (Orange peel) device. Orange peel with the spectro2profiler,
- Workshop on the measurement of colour, gloss and surface profile with the spectro2profiler,
- Workshop on testing the physical properties of coatings: thickness, elasticity, adhesion.
